Course Description

This course is suitable for anyone who works with or cares for people, including adults, teenagers and children who suffer from anaphylaxis. It is equally suitable though for anyone who works with members of the public as well as being particularly useful for people who work in establishments that prepare, sell or serve food as anaphylaxis is often related to food allergies.

Our Anaphylaxis training course will teach people how to effectively and quickly treat severe allergic reactions in either children or adults, including how to put a person in the recovery position and how to administer an auto-injector (EpiPen®).

Learning Outcomes

After this half-day course staff will be able to:

  • Early recognise the signs and symptoms of an anaphylactic shock
  • Effectively manage an emergency
  • Demonstrate the correct use of EpiPen, Ana Pen & JEXT Pen training devices
  • Demonstrate how to put a person in the recovery position

A simulated competency assessment will take place at the end of the session, supervised by one of our trainers, allowing delegates to return to the workplace and embed the learning further until deemed competent within their organisation’s guidelines and protocols.
