Employers are required by law to ensure their first aiders are competent and maintain their skills throughout the three years in which their certificates are valid. This is why the Health and Safety Executive advice is that first aiders attend an annual refresher course during this three year period.
This half day refresher course is therefore suitable for currently qualified first aiders only. The course builds on the participants’ expertise and confidence and provides them with ample opportunities to practice and update their skills and knowledge.

Please note, the course does not renew first aid certificates, or extend the validity period of certificates. It is for practice and refreshing skills only.

Syllabus

This course is for people holding a current First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work certificate. Owing to the practical nature of any First Aid and Moving and Handling courses a basic level of general fitness is required. Delegates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline. Should you have any questions relating to the accessibility of this course please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Appropriate clothing should be worn so as not to hinder movement. We recommend delegates wear comfortable clothing (not skirts or dresses) to participate in the essential practical elements of the training. Closed over the foot and toes shoes should be worn.
