About this course
Appropriate infection control is integral to the health and safety of patients, practitioners, and staff, making effective infection prevention and control training a priority for all clinical and non-clinical employees.
There are no specific entry requirements, therefore this course is suitable for all staff, including new starters and for existing employees as a refresher.
The primary goal of this course is to highlight the importance of infection prevention procedures, and the impact of healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs). Participants will develop an understanding of how HCAIs can spread, and their duty of care to prevent this. The syllabus includes safe handling of sharps, sterilisation procedures for equipment and the surrounding environment, the management of body fluids and blood as well as providing delegates with an outline of legislation and regulations including risk assessments.
