Employers are required by law to ensure their paediatric first aiders are competent and maintain their skills throughout the two years in which their certificates are valid. This is why the Health and Safety Executive advice is that paediatric first aiders attend an annual refresher course during this two year period.
This half day refresher course is a very interactive and scenario-based course, designed to refresh and test the participants’ knowledge and skills when it comes to knowing what to do in an paediatric emergency situation. It is suitable for currently qualified paediatric first aiders only.
Please note, the course does not renew paediatric first aid certificates, or extend the validity period of certificates. It is for practice and refreshing skills only.
Syllabus
This course is for people holding a current Paediatric First Aid at Work certificate. Owing to the practical nature of any First Aid and Moving and Handling courses a basic level of general fitness is required. Should you have any questions relating to the accessibility of this course please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Appropriate clothing should be worn so as not to hinder movement. We recommend delegates wear comfortable clothing (not skirts or dresses) to participate in the essential practical elements of the training. Closed over the foot and toes shoes should be worn.
