About this course
Safeguarding children and young people from harm and serious exploitation while providing an environment in which children and young people can flourish, is a responsibility of all professionals or anyone who volunteers directly with children, young people and/or their families.
This training course is suitable for anybody required to undertake training as part of their role to fulfil that obligation and it has been designed as an introductory level of the key concepts and principles of safeguarding; therefore, no previous knowledge is required.
This safeguarding course enables learners to get the knowledge and confidence they need to detect and report any safeguarding concerns appropriately.
What you’ll learn
Have a good understanding of the key safeguarding principles of the current legislation which applies to children and young people.
Understand what safeguarding means and why it is important in their work.
Identify different types of abuse including physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, and neglect as well as understanding what each of those types of abuse may be.
Interpret different signs and indicators when it comes to identifying child abuse.
Know what the appropriate action to take if they suspect that a child is in danger as well as how to report child abuse or neglect.
